01/12/16 Acting Lesson 12

Today we showed Erica the finished script that we were working on in our directed study session, there are still just occasional things we need to tweak and add but other than that we have a show ready for our commission task which is great because we are running out of time and there is a part of me that is worried we wont have enough time to remember all our lines. Jess and Sian did really well on their rhymes that they wrote for the script, however we should have clarified the rhyming pattern, because now they’re different to all of mine. It won’t make a massive difference as long as the children can understand it and we don’t have lots of long words that are complicated for them then they will still learn. However we should have still discussed this. I also wrote the Paris song in the directed study session, but I don’t have a tune for it in mind so when it comes to making a backing track or backing music it may be hard to create.

  1. Sophia, these entries are supposed to record the process and progress of your TiE piece as it develops. This entry “Today we showed Erica the finished script that we were working on in our directed study session, there are still just occasional things we need to tweak and add but other than that we have a show ready for our commission task.” provides very little information and not only that, comes across as either very naïve (as it implies that you think you have a show ready) or careless (because what you actually mean is a complete draft script ready for the work in progress rehearsed reading). These entries are very important, you need to show all stages of the development of this commission in DETAIL. You also need to identify what still needs work. I haven’t seen any mention of workshops or learning materials to be given in a pack to the school which is what you’ve also been asked to develop.
In the New Year try and work more specifically with details and with insight. At the moment I am very concerned about the standard you are going to be able to achieve. You need practice at delivering evidence that meets the higher standards.
